What’s New with Millennium Version 7.9
The release of Millennium v7.9 brings many exciting enhancements to the security of payment processing for Millennium, including a new, fully integrated PCI compliant application from Paya Payment Solutions.
PCI Compliance
Note: Millennium v7.9 will achieve PCI compliance by shifting all credit card-related functionality to Paya Exchange, a fully integrated PCI compliant application from Paya Payment Solutions. All credit card data will be securely stored in the Paya Exchange Vault (customers using Paya Payment Solutions for their credit card processing are already using this method for storage). As part of the upgrade, you can set up a storage-only account for the Paya Exchange Vault service.
What will change in Millennium functionality for everyone?
- Entry of credit card numbers and expiration dates will be done through a secure Paya Exchange window accessible from within Millennium.
- The credit card number and expiration date will be available from Millennium on the secure credit card update form only.
- To ensure PCI compliance, the import of unencrypted credit card data will no longer be supported.
- Full, unencrypted credit card data will no longer be exposed for non-compliant exporting and reporting.
- Processing of monthly credit card installment payments will only be available through the secure Paya Payment Solutions gateway.
What will change if you are currently using Paya Payment Solutions?
- If you are using the Donate Now functionality, you will have a new secure form for entry of credit card numbers and expiration dates.
- Batch processing will no longer be available.
What will change in your data?
To ensure PCI compliance, credit card numbers will no longer be stored in your Millennium database. Instead, credit card data will be securely stored in the Paya Exchange Vault (customers using Paya Payment Solutions for their credit card processing are already using this method for storage). Before upgrading to the PCI compliant version of Millennium, all credit card numbers must be removed or transferred from the Millennium database to the Paya Exchange Vault.
A utility will be provided with Millennium v7.9 with these three options:
- Move all credit card data to the Paya Exchange Vault.
- Remove all credit card data from the database (no transfer to Paya Exchange Vault).
- Remove expired credit card data and move only unexpired credit card data to the Paya Exchange Vault (deleted numbers will retain the first six digits for reference purposes).
As part of the upgrade, you can set up a storage-only account for the Paya Exchange Vault service. There is no fee for the storage-only option. If you are using Paya Payment Solutions for your credit card processing, you are already using the Paya Exchange Vault for storage and do not need to do anything with the credit card delete utility during your upgrade to Millennium v7.9.
