Bank Draft
Storing Bank Draft Data
In order to easily provide a greater degree of confidentiality in the handling of a constituent's bank account number, that information is stored in the Credit Card table and is linked to either the Gift Transaction, the Dues Transaction, or the Event Income (Registration Fee) row that used bank draft (bank) as the Tender.
Bank account numbers are stored in encrypted form, but they cannot be entered or stored unless you access the Millennium through a secure connection (in the form of an SSL Certificate)
Bank Draft Data Display
For Gift or Dues Transactions, the method of tender is displayed with the primary row if the appropriate security has been established for the user who is viewing Giving information. The standard display incorporates the lines of Bank Draft information into the display of the transaction (unless the display mode is set to Mini). To access the Bank Draft information for editing, the display includes an Edit button to the left.
Bank Draft Data Entry
Step-by-step instructions for entering a Gift, Dues, or Registration Fee transaction when tendered by bank draft can be found in the Gift and Dues Tender Types topic.
Multiple Linked Bank Draft Rows
Each Gift or Dues Transaction row may have one or more linked Bank Draft rows, in combination with any other appropriate secondary rows (unless the transaction has a Type of Credit.). Only one Bank Draft Row is created at the time the Gift or Dues transaction is entered. To add another Bank Draft row, place your mouse pointer over the edit button for the Gift or Dues transaction, place the pointer over Transactions, and select Add Bank Draft.
Edit, Journal or Delete a Transaction Tendered by Bank Draft
- If a Bank Draft row exists and you edit the transaction to a different Tender type, the Bank Draft row will not be automatically deleted and it will still display with the Gift or Dues information; you will need to manually delete the Bank Draft row after the transaction has been edited. If the new Tender Type is Securities, Gift in Kind, or Credit Card, you will be prompted to create a new row of the corresponding type.
- If a Bank Draft row is linked to a transaction that
is subsequently journaled, a flag (credjrnlfl) is
automatically set on the Bank Draft row so that such rows can be excluded
from Bank Draft reports.
- If you journal a Gift or Dues Transaction with an attached Bank Draft row, and the Bank Draft transaction itself has been processed through Paya Payment Solutions, you will be warned that the transaction has been processed through Paya Payment Solutions and will have to be reversed. Select OK to proceed. Millennium will journal the Gift or Dues Transaction and automatically reverse the bank draft debit. Select Cancel to return to the Journal insert form.
- A Gift, Dues, or Event Income (Registration Fee) transaction tendered by bank draft and successfully processed through Paya Payment Solutions cannot be deleted.
