Profiles World Introduction
The Millennium Profiles World allows you to view and maintain the data that belongs to each constituent. That data is organized into data tables, each focusing on a particular kind of information. Together, that data creates a complete profile for the constituent.
Within each data table, information is organized into rows. Each row belongs to a particular constituent and it is made up of a standard set of information for that table. In most tables, each constituent may "own" many rows. For example, each row in the Address data table represents one address and other information about that one address (the dates that the address is valid, the phone number at that address, etc.) that belongs to the constituent. That same constituent may have different types of addresses such as a home, business, and a school address. In that case, the constituent would own three Address rows.
Within the rows of a data table, information is organized into specific fields. Each field has a defined data type so that the system knows what to expect for that field in terms of size and the kind data that will be stored in that field. For example, it will expect numbers in the field for the gift amount and will format that information as money, and it will accept any text, numbers, or characters in the first line of the street address.
To view constituent data, you begin by performing a Search to identify the constituent whose data you want to view. Once the constituent is identified, data can be simply displayed for either Viewing or for Maintenance purposes.
The data tables in the Profiles World are grouped into the three general categories, Biographical, Giving, and Prospect Management. The data table names are shown in these groups in the Millennium Explorer. You may view the rows that a constituent owns in any one table, any set of tables you choose, or in all of the tables.
Circles are a sub-World of the Profiles World. There are two major components to Circles functionality. One is the Circle itself - the Circle Definition, and the other is Membership within the Circle. Information about Circle Definitions is found in the Circles Help topic. Information about a constituent's Circle memberships can be found in the Circle Membership Help topic.
Within the Profiles World, you can set many of the Display and User Options that will customize your view of the constituent's data. More details about these options and many of the other functions available from within the Profiles World can be found in the User Options Help topic.
