Add / Edit Sales Tax Authorities
Set up information for all sales tax collected. Create a sales tax authority for all entities - such as city, county, and state - served by your organization.
Sales Tax Authority Details
Enter the following information for the sales tax authority.
Sales Tax Authority ID: Enter the ID for the sales tax authority.
Description: Enter a description for the sales tax authority.
Distribution Code: Enter or select a distribution code.
Description: Displays the description of the distribution code.
Sales Tax Payable GL Account: Enter or select the general ledger account code for the sales tax payable account.
Description: Displays the description of the general ledger account code.
Tax Rate: Enter the tax rate percentage.
Once you're finished with your edits, Save your changes.
Note: After creating multiple authorities here, use Sales Tax Codes to combine authorities into one sales tax code.
