Entering Beginning Balances
- I just purchased the software; how do I enter my beginning balances including A/R?
- I just recently added the A/R modules. I want to enter my current outstanding A/R invoices. Their total balance is already included in my General Ledger. How do I enter the invoices correctly?

If you are attempting to enter beginning balances, and they include an A/R balance, code the A/R balance into a clearing account (like an ARO or OA type of account) when you enter your initial journal voucher. Enter the individual invoices that comprise the balance into the system using Transactions>Accounts Receivables>Enter A/R Invoices. When entering the outstanding invoices, debit your A/R subledger account (must be account type A/R) and credit the account that was previously used for the A/R portion of the journal voucher (which will reduce the balance in this account to zero).

Enter the invoices, individually using Transactions>Accounts Receivables>Enter A/R Invoices. Locate the account that contains the currently existing balance in the General Ledger. When entering the outstanding invoices, debit your A/R subledger account (must be account type A/R) and credit the account that was previously used for the A/R balance (which will reduce the balance in this account to zero).
