Education
A constituent can have an unlimited number of Education rows. Each may contain complete educational information regarding attendance at a particular school, college, university, or other training institution and the specific degree (if any) associated with that attendance. If a constituent has attended multiple institutions or has received degrees from multiple schools, or has received multiple degrees from the same institution, each such association should be recorded in a separate Education row. Special circumstances such as honorary degrees may be defined in the Degrees lookup table. Multiple concentrations for a particular degree may be assigned.
An Education row may specify (in any combination):
- an institution or university name (for example, Millennium University).
- a college or school within that institution (for example, School of Arts and Letters) .
- a department within the college or school (for example, Department of Art History).
- a particular campus (for example, Downtown Campus).
There are three dates which you may associate with a set of Education information:
- the actual date a degree was granted (by day, month, and year).
- the preferred date (by day, month, year) with which the constituent would like to be associated for reunion or social purposes.
- the actual years of attendance (by start date and stop date).
- An Administrator can remove the Education table from the Millennium Explorer if not used. See Table Options for more information.
- Millennium system administrators or the database administrator can configure audit logging for the Attribute data table. For more information, see Audit Log.
Linked Attributes
You may attach, or link, multiple Attribute rows to any Education row in order to associate an activity, club membership, or interest with the constituent's attendance at that institution. These Attributes will always display with the Education row to which they are attached. And if the Display Linked Attributes in the Attribute Display User Option is checked, they will also display with the constituent's other attributes.

Education Field Descriptions
Education data is stored in the school data table. The following fields are included. The field labels and non-displaying designations that are listed here are those that the system uses by default. If you want to override these default settings, you must customize your display definition.
Note: Custom fields are included in the data table, and are available for any purpose that you want to define. These fields are not shown on the standard Display or standard Data Maintenance forms. If you want to make use of one or more of the custom fields, use the Custom Display Designer to edit the standard Display and Data Maintenance forms.
