Change Your Password
Users, with the exception of sa, MILLORA, and millennium_admin, can change their passwords directly on the Millennium logon page if the system-wide option to allow users to do so has been set by the system administrator. See Password Options for details.
Use the following steps to change your password from the Log On form:
- Click the hyperlink in the 'Click here to change your password' text. If you receive the message 'The option to change your password has not been enabled by your Administrator.' 'Click here to Login.', you will need to contact your system administrator.
-
In the appropriately labeled fields, enter your User ID, the password that you currently use to log into Millennium and your new password. Re-enter your new password in the Confirm Password field. The New Password and Confirm Password must be identical and follow the requirements set forth by the system administrator. The Password requirements will display as 'The New Password must be at least # character(s) long and contain at least # letter(s) and at least # number(s)' (where # is the password length and number of alpha/numeric characters required) on the log on screen and will display only if the system administrator changes these requirements, on the System Options page, from Millennium's default password requirements noted above.
Note: You can not use your previous four passwords. The userlist system table stores each of your three previous passwords, as well as the date your password was last changed and a flag used by the system, if needed, to prompt you to change your password when you next log in.
- Once all four pieces of information are correctly entered, a 'success' window displays. Click the hyperlink in the Click here to Login to Millennium message. The system will automatically log you in and display the Millennium Home Page. If one or more pieces of information is entered incorrectly, you will receive a message that describes what is incorrect. Click OK to close the message and try again.
Once Your Password is Changed:
- If you own any reports that have been set up to run on a regular schedule, the supporting report files that contain your previous password will be automatically updated to reflect your new password. These reports will continue to run without resubmitting to the Queue.
- If you have created any assignments for the Millennium Assignment Server, the password field in your rows in the assignments table will be automatically updated to reflect your new password. These assignments will continue to launch as scheduled; you do not have to log in and update these assignments first.
- If the Generic Import Utility is set to launch in Unattended Mode, using your User ID and password, you must manually launch the utility, select Unattended Mode Settings from the Preferences menu, reenter the name of the ODBC connection, your User Name, and your new password before the utility can be launched in Unattended Mode again.
- If the ADE Import Tool is set to launch in Unattended Mode, using your User ID and password, you must manually launch the utility, select Unattended Mode Settings from the menu bar and enter your new password before the utility can be launched in Unattended Mode again.
