How do I consolidate two existing organizations?
You must first set up the structure of the new consolidated organization using the File>New Consolidated Organization form. Next, determine the organizations to include in the active, consolidated organization using the Activities>Data Consolidation>Consolidated Organizations.
If I make changes in a consolidated organization, will the changes be updated in each of the original organizations?
If you make changes within a consolidated organization, the original organizations will not be updated.
When creating a consolidated organization, do I have to use the same fiscal year as the original organizations?
The original organization's fiscal year must have the same month and day as the consolidated organization's fiscal year-end.
What happens if my chart of account titles are shorter in the consolidated organization?
Chart of Account titles are truncated during consolidation, if the consolidated organization's account title is shorter than that of the original organization.
What data can be merged when organizations are consolidated?
Chart of Accounts, Balance Data, Financial Statement Formats, Closing Account Assignments, and Report Group Codes data can be merged.
What happens if adjustments are made to a previously consolidated period—will it adjust the prior period on my next consolidation?
No it does not. You can either enter the adjustments in the consolidation database manually (or using import), or you can remove the databases and reconsolidate for the entire time span.
