Login Creation Utility Fields

The Login Creation Utility lets you initially populate the user ID and password fields for those constituents who need to sign in to the secured areas of your organization web site. This topic provides detailed descriptions of the fields and functions of the Login Creation Utility. For information about using the utility, see Using the Login Creation Utility.

Options

The following sections describe the options available for the initially generated user IDs and passwords created by the Login Creation Utility.

Login ID

Choose one or more of the following options to use when the utility generates login IDs (user names) for constituents.

Option Description
Alternate ID

This format is an alternate constituent ID as specified in the corealtid field of the Basic Data table.

Alternate ID2#

This format is an alternate constituent ID as specified in the corealtid2 field of the Basic Data table.

Alternate ID3#

This format is an alternate constituent ID as specified in the corealtid3 field of the Basic Data table.

Alternate ID4#

This format is an alternate constituent ID as specified in the corealtid4 field of the Basic Data table.

Alternate ID5#

This format is an alternate constituent ID as specified in the corealtid5 field of the Basic Data table.

Millennium ID

This format includes the complete, 10-digit Constituent ID Number.

Example: 0000000022

Preferred Name

This format is the user's name, displayed as FirstName LastName from the Preferred Name data row (Name Type Code=a).

Example: John Smith

Randomly Generated

This option creates a randomly generated user ID of at least six characters, The constituent must have a Name data row (of any Name Type) in order for the random generation to be successful. The random generation uses numerals and both upper and lower case characters.

Password

Choose one or more of the following options to use when the utility generates initial passwords for constituents. The constituent is prompted to change the password the first time they log in.

Option Description
Alternate ID

This format is an alternate constituent ID as specified in the corealtid field of the Basic Data table.

Alternate ID2#

This format is an alternate constituent ID as specified in the corealtid2 field of the Basic Data table.

Alternate ID3#

This format is an alternate constituent ID as specified in the corealtid3 field of the Basic Data table.

Alternate ID4#

This format is an alternate constituent ID as specified in the corealtid4 field of the Basic Data table.

Alternate ID5#

This format is an alternate constituent ID as specified in the corealtid5 field of the Basic Data table.

Birth Date

This format includes the constituent's birth date (corebirthd) as taken from the Basic Data table.

Example: 19760426

Randomly Generated

This option creates a randomly generated password of at least six characters, The constituent must have a Password data row (corepwdec) in the Basic Data table in order for the random generation to be successful. The random generation uses numerals and both upper and lower case characters.

Social Security #

This format includes the constituent's full Social Security number from the Basic Data table (coressnum).

Telephone #

This format includes the constituent's telephone number, as recorded in the addrphone field from the first-found Preferred Address row. Any non-numeric characters are removed.

Functions

The following functions are available in the Login Creation Utility.

Function Description
Add

Click Add to add an option to the Selected list.

Remove

Click Remove to move an option from the Selected list to the Options list.

Up

Click Up to move an item in the Selected list up in position. The position of the item is used if the Use Hierarchy option is selected.

Down

Click Down to move an item in the Selected list down in position. The position of the item is used if the Use Hierarchy option is selected.

Use Hierarchy

Select Use Hierarchy to allow the system to move through the options in the Selected list if the constituent does not include the first item in the list. Use the Up and Down buttons to order the items in the hierarchy.

If the Use Hierarchy check box is cleared, and the Selected item has no data available, then the system cannot create login credentials for the constituent.

Note: Each time the utility is run, the system attempts to generate credentials for any data rows that do not have an associated user ID or password. Those rows that have already been populated with a user ID and password are not overwritten.

Work Table

Select the Work Table check box if you have a previously saved worktable that you want to use when you run the Login Creation Utility. Clicking this check box opens the Load Table window with a list of available worktables. For information about generating a worktable to be used with the utility, see Creating a Worktable for the Login Creation Utility.

Start Click Start to run the Login Creation Utility. A pop-up message indicates when the utility completes processing, and status messages in the form show the number of user IDs and passwords that are created by the utility.
Cancel Click Cancel to leave the Login Creation Utility without running it. The system returns you to the Online Constituent Directory Setup options.
